Please arrive at least 10 min early to complete check in at the front desk and get your Pointers training card stamped by the coach. Do not pay pool entry - tell reception that you are with Powerpoints (at MSAC let them know you are with MSV). We use the club 10 or 20 session training cards for all sessions - details of how to buy the cards are below.
As part of the COVID safe plan, all swimmers are required to agree to the following:
-
Practice good personal hygiene standards - such as showering at home before swimming, cough/sneeze into elbow.
-
Do not train if you have any symptoms such as fever, chills, sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of sense of smell.
-
If you feel unwell during the training session, leave the pool immediately and get tested.
-
Bring your own equipment - no equipment will be provided or shared among swimmers
-
Social distance while in the pool, especially at the end of the pool. Leave at 10 sec intervals to minimise bunching at the end of the pool.
Fees
Club members: Either $180 for a 10 session card or $310 for a 20 session card (20 session cards must be used within 3 months and can be used by the one person only). These fees are also applicable to 2nd claim swimmers.

How do I get into the pool for club sessions?
Just tell the staff at the entrance desk that you are attending a Powerpoints training session. They will let you in for free. They might ask to see your club ID card or your training session card to show you are with the club. There is no need to pay for pool entry.
Checking In
All swimmers must hand a training session card to the coach for validation prior to entering the water. New swimmers and visitors must pay the coach for one-off sessions prior to entering the water.
New Swimmers
The first session is free (no session fee) then $20 per session (includes pool entry) for the next 3 sessions - these 4 sessions need to be within a month. After 4 sessions the club requires that you register as a member for insurance and administration purposes (except for registered members from other Masters Swimming Australia clubs). Please introduce yourself to the coach and sign the sheet before entering the water. If you have fins, pull-buoy and paddles, please bring them to the training session. If you would llke more information, please email registrar@powerpoints.net.au.
Visitors from Other Victorian and Interstate Clubs
Registered members of other Masters Swimming (MSV & MSA) clubs are welcome to train with us. The fee is $20 per session or you may purchase a 10 session card for $200 from the coach on presentation of a current MSV registration card. Please introduce yourself to the coach before entering the water.
Visitors from Overseas
Visiting masters swimmers from overseas are always welcome to train with us. The fee is $20 per session. Please introduce yourself to the coach before entering the water.
Pre-requisites
There is no strict skill or fitness criteria for participation in club training. However, you will need to have some basic competence in freestyle. If you can swim about 1500m in total and at least 200m continuously then you should be fine. If you think that your fitness is insufficient to train for the full 75 minutes you are welcome to limit your sessions to a shorter duration and gradually build up to a full session.
