Upcoming Events in 2007

At long last we now have the state calendar of swimming competitions. You can see it at www.aussivic.com.au but we will extract the state & national events to put in your diaries now as some require flights/accommodation to be booked quite apart from the commitment of time. And, of course, we want to make sure that you will be there, swimming for us as well as for yourself. But, not only do we want the pleasure of your company, but we also want you to know that if you intend to swim at the FINA World Masters in Perth in April 2008, you need to get yourself some qualifying times at FINA recognized meets.

Here goes:

• Saturday, February 24 Malvern Marlins Interclub at Harold Holt.  Warm up at 6.15 for a 7pm start.  Entries must be in by Friday, February 16 to Marlins PO Box.  Download Entry Form (PDF). No late entries or entries on the night, but we can submit relays that evening so come & support Powerpoints.  The food afterwards is usually excellent. Last warm up for State Champs.
  
  PS if you don't remember  your Aussi number for your entry form, pls request it with 'Aussi Number' in the subject line.
  
  
• 2007 Registration forms have been held up - you'll need to be registered to do this swim, so please reply by return email immediately (latest by Tuesday night) and we will reregister you with AUSSI. (please put 'Marlin registration' in the subject line). Fill VPP registration form out etc when the registration email is sent later this week.
  
  
• Sunday, April 22 State Long Course Championships at MSAC.  Warm up at 12.30 for a 1.30 start.  We will let you know when entries must be submitted.
  
  
• Friday, May 4 to Monday, May 7, National Swim in Darwin.  You should have booked your accommodation with us by now.   We will advise when entries should be sent to us.
  
  
• Sunday, June 17 & Sunday, June 24 State Long Distance Short Course at MSAC.  Start time of 4pm.
  
  
• Saturday, August 4 State Short Course Championships at MSAC. Start time of 12pm.
  
  
• Saturday, August 18 to Sunday, August 26 Mildura Masters Games.
  
  
• Saturday, September 8 & Saturday, September 15 Long Distance Long Course at MSAC.  Start time of 4pm.
  
  
• Friday, October 5 to Sunday October 7 Australian Masters Games, Adelaide.
  
  
• See info at  www.australasianmasters.com. We recommend the following for accommodation as it is close to the pool and reasonably priced- Regal Park Motel, or  Majestic Lion Apartments. If interested, please contact us (with Adelaide Masters in the subject line) and we will put you in touch with others interested and send you further information. The club will not be making official  accommodation bookings for this event.
  
  
• Saturday, November 24, State Long Course Relay Meet at MSAC.  Start time 12pm. If you only swim at one meet this year, this is the one you should choose.  We have a reputation to maintain!
